It has been a little over a week since the 2016 conference ended, and I still have my conference glow!
That’s because the Food and Wine Conference experience doesn’t end once you pack your suitcase, say all your goodbyes, and grudgingly make your trip back home.
I realize now that I have been home for a week that, although I am not sitting here amidst incredibly gorgeous tropical surroundings, or enthusiastically looking forward to the next amazing meal (for which I need to do no prep and will do no cleanup, woohoo!), I have brought much of the conference home with me, and the connections I made and the things I learned will help me improve my blog for the whole year, until the next conference.
If you have not attend this conference, here are 5 reasons you should start planning right now to attend in 2017!
#5 – The AMAZINGLY Luxurious Resort
The Rosen Shingle Creek Resort is absolutely gorgeous, and a perfect setting for a trip that is both relaxing and productive. The staff members were so friendly and helpful, and the rooms were spacious and clean. And the view from our room was incredible! I definitely would love to go back again, just for the setting alone!
#4 – Interesting, Fun, Informative Conference Sessions
From the inspiring keynote presentation by Donatella Arpaia, to the informative panel discussions from the brand representatives, to the hands-on fun of the #Hashed competition, each session was time well-spent. I learned so much about social media, professional etiquette, food-styling, and much more!
#3 – The Food
OMGOSH, so much food, and so delicious! They did not let us starve, not even close! From breakfast to dinner and everything in between, we were treated to amazing meals and snacks. You could come next year just for the food alone – it is well worth it and you will not be disappointed!
#2 – The Brands
It was so much fun getting to know the brand representatives and interacting with them. They shared lots of information about the behind-the-scenes workings and philosophies, which made it a really personal experience for all involved. I definitely know what brands I will be looking out for as I do my grocery shopping (and wine shopping!). It was a great experience to connect with them, and I hope to continue to foster a relationship with them in the months to come.
So grateful to all the brands/sponsors (listed in no particular order). Hopefully I have included them all, but my apologies if I missed any!
Florida Strawberry Growers Association, Florida Dairy Farmers, Cabot Creamery, Idaho Potatoes, CK Mondavi Wines, Duda Farm Fresh Foods, Certified Angus Beef, Stoneridge Orchards, Oceanus Seafood, Wish Farms, Out of the Weeds, Beef Checkoff, Tapa Toro, Tupperware, Feedblitz, Fields Auto Group
#1 – The Bloggers
My VERY favorite part of the weekend was meeting so many incredible bloggers. There was so much talent and energy in the room, it was practically tangible. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and took the time to say hello and connect even with people they did not already know. It was also so fun to be able to meet people in person with whom I have been interacting via social media for years! I count myself lucky to be able to run elbows with such a great group of people.
So that’s it! 5 great reasons to attend the next Food and Wine Conference. Those aren’t the only reasons, but really, do you need to know anything else? I know I will be buying my tickets for next year as soon as they are available!
Many thanks to everyone whose hard work made the experience so fruitful and enjoyable!
Thanks for stopping by!
