White chocolate covered pretzels with red and green sprinkles make a festive addition to your cookie tray. They are inexpensive, quick, and easy, and they require no baking.
You can even use them for homemade holiday gifts. They are perfect for neighbors, teachers, or coworkers! Make a big batch of these white chocolate covered pretzel treats and divide them between treat bags, mason jars, or cookie tins. Wrap a ribbon around them, add a nice tag, and you are all set with a thoughtful, delicious gift.
I also love to use these as an easy way to round out my Christmas cookie tray. I usually make a few batches of cookies that are a little more labor intensive, and then churn out a bunch of these dipped pretzels to sprinkle throughout the tray.
These are also good to use if you accidentally forget about your Christmas cookie exchange until the last minute and then need something super quick and easy to contribute. (Not that I have ever been in that situation - ahem! lol)

🥘 Ingredients Needed
- White chocolate chips - for best results, use chips that are for baking.
- Mini pretzel twists - you can use any pretzels, but the mini seem to work best to get the white chocolate to clump on nicely.
- Sprinkles - use red and green for Christmas, or any other colors as you wish.
🔪 Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.
- Melt the white chocolate chips (see recipe card for 2 methods to do this).
- Dip about half a pretzel into the melted chocolate and place it on the parchment paper.
- Add the sprinkles on top of the chocolate before it hardens.

There are a couple of ways to melt the chocolate chips, however my preferred method is to use the microwave. I like to use 50% power, and I start by microwaving for 1 minute. Then I stir the chips, and then microwave again at 50% power, 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between, until they are melted.
Use a double boiler, or make your own using a medium saucepan and a heat-proof glass bowl. Bring the water in the saucepan to a low simmer, and carefully place the chocolate chips in the glass bowl inside the saucepan but on top of the water (make sure the water doesn't go over the sides of the bowl). Stir until the chips are melted.
Yes, you can. Candy melts have some oil in them which makes it easier to melt them without the chocolate seizing up. However, they might be a little tougher to find as not all grocery stores carry them.
If you accidentally introduced some water during the melting process, your chocolate might suddenly 'seize up' before you can use it. Or it's possible that you overheated the chocolate. Either way, it's sometimes possible to resolve by adding a teaspoon or two of boiling water and mixing vigorously. Another possible fix is to add a pat of butter or a bit of vegetable oil. I have actually not had much success with fixing seized chocolate, and I usually find it easier to just start over.
You are better off using the white chocolate baking chips, because it will set firmer. Once the white chocolate is melted, as it cools it doesn't firm up again as much and so your Christmas pretzels will be gooey.

Ingredients
- 1 package white chocolate baking chips

Instructions
