Place the flour, baking soda, salt, and matcha powder in a bowl. Mix thoroughly and set aside.

Place the butter, sugar, and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl. Beat until fluffy,
½ cup butter, ⅓ cup sugar, ⅓ cup brown sugar
Add in the eggs and vanilla and beat until well combined.

Add the flour mixture into the mixing bowl and mix.
Add in the whit chocolate chips and mix.
1 cup white chocolate chips or chunks
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, then scoop the dough into 12-14 portions set at least 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
Top the dough portions with extra white chocolate (optional), then bake for 12 minutes or until the edges begin to brown.
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack to finish cooling.

Notes
If you make the dough ahead of time, tightly wrap it and place it in the refrigerator. When you are ready to bake the cookies, remove the dough from the refrigerator 20 minutes ahead of time to allow the dough to warm up a bit for the best results.
You can use white chocolate chips, white chocolate chunks, or chopped white chocolate.
