One skillet Glazed Salmon Teriyaki comes together in a snap and it's delicious! Flaky, juicy fish flavored with soy sauce, lime, brown sugar, and ginger for a tangy sauce. What's not to love? It's the perfect combination!
Spray a little nonstick spray in a large skillet and warm over medium heat. Add the salmon fillets to the skillet.
4 salmon fillets
Cook the salmon fillets until lightly browned (about 2 minutes on each side).
Pour the soy sauce and brown sugar mixture over the salmon fillets. Cook until the sauce has thickened and the salmon is done, about 2-4 more minutes.
Notes
Prep Tips:
I recommend that you use wild Alaskan salmon, but any salmon fillets will work.
If using frozen salmon, thaw it completely and pat it dry before cooking.
Keep a close eye on the salmon while cooking since fillets can vary in thickness and cook quickly.
If the salmon finishes cooking before the glaze has thickened, remove the salmon from the skillet and continue simmering the sauce until it reaches the desired consistency.
The glaze will continue to thicken slightly as it cools.
Variations:
Prepare this recipe in the oven by searing one side of the salmon in an oven-safe skillet, flipping it, adding the sauce, and finishing it in a 375-degree oven for 5-6 minutes.
You can substitute lemon juice for the lime juice if desired.
Add a sprinkle of sesame seeds or sliced green onions before serving.
Increase the ginger and/or garlic for a bolder teriyaki flavor.
Serving Suggestions:
Serve over plain rice to soak up the flavorful glaze.
Pair with lemon dill rice for an upgrade.
Add steamed broccoli, green beans, or a simple salad to round out the meal.
Garnish with lime wedges for a fresh burst of citrus.
Storage:
Store leftover salmon in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For best results, drizzle any remaining glaze over the salmon before storing.
Freezing is not recommended, as it changes the texture of the salmon.
To reheat, place the salmon in a shallow baking dish and warm it in a 275-degree oven for about 15 minutes, or until heated through.
