Combine all ingredients into a small bowl and mix to combine.
1 tablespoon dried parsley, 1 tablespoon onion powder, ½ tablespoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, 1 teaspoon dried basil, ½ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon black pepper
Place in an airtight container such as a spice jar and store in a dry area.
Notes
For a sweeter spaghetti sauce, add ½ tablespoon white granulated sugar to the spice mixture.
For a spicy or zesty spaghetti sauce, add ½ teaspoon to 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, to taste.
Dried parsley is heavier and will want to settle separately from the lighter seasonings such as the onion powder. Shake or mix well before using.
Double the amounts if you would like to store for more than one use.
This recipe makes enough for a spaghetti meat sauce recipe that utilizes 1 pound of ground beef. This is a very common amount for spaghetti sauce recipes, which should make it easy to apply.
Add this seasoning mix to store-bought spaghetti sauce (add a bit at a time and taste as you go to determine the right amount) for an easy dinner with homemade taste!
