- Pasta sauce - Use your favorite pasta sauce recipe, or a jarred pasta sauce.

- Shredded cheese - Use your favorite! I like Monterey Jack, cheddar or mozzarella.

Hamburger casserole can be made using hamburger meat or ground beef. Use your favorite!
📖 Variations
- Make it a little lighter by using ground chicken or turkey instead of beef.
- You can also add finely diced or grated vegetables such as carrots, zucchini or mushrooms if you want to make a healthier casserole.
- Like a little spice? Add some red pepper flakes.
- Make it gluten free by using gluten free pasta.
- You can use your favorite cheese in this recipe, or a combination of cheeses. I love to use a combination of Monterey Jack and cheddar. Using different cheeses can drastically change the flavor of the casserole.
- Hamburger casserole is also a great dish to use up leftovers. Diced vegetables, leftover marinara sauce or pizza sauce, and a few diced hot dogs can easily be thrown in there to add some extra flavor and texture. A great way to reduce food waste!
