🧂 Ingredients Needed
- white wine - feel free to use your favorite white wine--this drink can be made with both sweet and dry wines.
- pomegranate juice - a pomegranate blend also works well, but I like to use pure pomegranate juice for as much of that pom flavor as possible.
- lime juice - pairs well with the fruit juice and gives this drink a pop of citrus.
- club soda - provides the refreshing bubbles.
- garnishes - add lime wedges, orange slices, or some pomegranate arils to spiff it up and make this fun drink even prettier!
🔪 Instructions
- Mix together white wine, pomegranate juice, lime juice, and soda water.
- Transfer to a pitcher or pour into individual cocktail glasses.
- Garnish your pomegranate spritzer with a slice of lime or some orange wedges and enjoy!
❔ FAQs
A spritzer is a cocktail typically made with white wine and some kind of sparkling beverage. They often include other ingredients like fruit juice for extra sweetness and flavor.
These are the "seeds" that you find inside a pomegranate fruit. They're actually composed of a red, fleshy exterior, and the seed is found inside the aril. These arils are rich in antioxidants and have even been linked to lower blood pressure and cancer-fighting properties.
Ultimately, it comes down to your personal preference. If you like your cocktails dry, use a drier white wine like sauvignon blanc or pinot grigio. Fans of sweeter drinks should opt for something like a moscato or riesling.
💭 Expert Tips and Tricks
- This pomegranate spritzer recipe can easily be doubled or tripled and served in a large pitcher or punch bowl.
- Bottled lime juice is a convenient ingredient to have on hand, but if you want a really fresh taste, squeeze some fresh lime juice (or lemon juice).
- You can make this pomegranate cocktail ahead of time by combining everything but the club soda. Add the bubbles right when it's time to serve.
- For best results, keep your ingredients chilled. You can serve this pomegranate spritzer over ice, but if everything is cold ahead of time, you won't need to worry about watering it down!

💡 Substitutions and Variations
- For a shortcut, substitute a sparkling wine for the club soda and white wine. If you like prosecco or champagne, this is a great way to eliminate an ingredient!
- Add some simple syrup or even a little bit of sugar for extra sweetness in your pomegranate spritzer.
- Use a flavored sparkling water to customize this cocktail to your taste.
- Feel free to add a splash of a flavored liqueur or even a bit of vodka or tequila for an extra boozy version of this pomegranate cocktail.
- If you want to give this a real wintry punch, use ginger beer instead of the seltzer water and garnish with a fresh rosemary sprig, fresh cranberries, or fresh mint.
- You can also turn this into a simple mocktail by replacing the wine with white grape juice.

Notes
- If you like cocktails on the sweeter side, use a sweet wine. If you like them on the dry side, use a dry wine.
- You can substitute a pomegranate juice blend if you can't find pomegranate juice.
- You can also add a bit of simple syrup or even sugar for extra sweetness.
- I used bottled lime juice, but fresh lime juice is even better if you want to squeeze enough limes.
- To make this ahead of time, omit the club soda when you first mix it and then add it just prior to serving, to preserve the carbonation.
- This tastes best when chilled, so if you are serving right away, make sure all the ingredients are chilled ahead of time.
