🧂 Gather Your Ingredients

- waffle pretzels - the base of the treat that adds a salty crunch to the sweetness of the chocolate.
- peanut butter egg candies - I love the chocolate and peanut butter combo, but feel free to choose a different kind of candy eggs if you're avoiding peanut allergies or have other preferences!
- chocolate candy melts - chocolate chips also work, but candy melts are easier to work with.

Line Up Pretzels
Place the pretzels in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Add Chocolate
Place a candy melt on each pretzel and pop in a pre-heated oven for about 2 minutes.

Add Candies
Press a peanut butter egg candy into each melted chocolate, then allow them to harden and cool.
💡 Expert Tips and Tricks
- Instead of parchment, you can also use a silicone mat.
- Be sure the peanut butter eggs are ready to go when you pull the pretzels out of the oven. Grab some helping hands to press the eggs into the chocolate before it hardens again!
- The chocolate shouldn't spread too much as long as you don't leave the pretzels in the oven too long, so you shouldn't have to worry about the pretzels touching.
❔ FAQs
Absolutely! Using a couple of pretzel sticks broken in half can even give the appearance of a bird's nest, which makes the egg candies even more appropriate.
Festive colored M&Ms or any other candy-coated chocolates are perfect for this treat.

📝 Substitutions and Variations
- Instead of chocolate candy melts, use pastel colors or white chocolate with some fun pastel colored sugars or sprinkles.
- Make this treat nut-free by using pastel M&Ms or other chocolate candies.
- Other fun toppings include graham cracker crumbs or some shredded coconut. Dye it green to look like grass!
- Add some extra decor with a drizzle of white chocolate.
Kristin’s Kitchen Tip
Assembling these on a large baking sheet means it's easy to make large batches! Feel free to make 2 or even 3 sheets at a time - as many as your oven will fit!
🥡 Storage
Keep these in an airtight container. They should be fine at room temperature, but if your house is on the warm side, you may want to pop them in the fridge. Your Easter treats with pretzels can also be frozen for up to 2 months - just let them thaw a bit at room temp before enjoying again!

Love you trick to use the candy melt on the pretzel, then pop them in the oven. So much easier that what I expected. And how cute tho! My kids will LOVE this idea.

Your pictures are beautiful! Thanks Kristin for this adorable and yummy treat. My children will enjoy making them for Easter dessert. I was thinking maybe we could use Rolllos in place of the chocolate candy melts, because I have easier access to them!
Kristin King says
Definitely try it with the Rolos, just keep an eye on them because they might melt a little quicker than the candy melts. Either way, they will be yummy! Hope you guys like them! Have a blessed Easter!
