💡 Substitutions and Variations
- For a simple version of this recipe, exclude the cinnamon and nutmeg and just toss the bananas with melted butter and brown sugar.
- A healthier version of this dish can be accomplished by reducing the amount of butter, or leaving it out altogether.
- You can also slice the bananas lengthwise rather than into crosswise rounds. If you air fry the bananas in larger slices, they may need more time to cook and should also be turned about halfway through.
🥫 Storage and Reheating
These air fried bananas are at their best when they're fresh out of the air fryer, but leftovers can be kept in the fridge in an airtight container for 3 or so days. You can also freeze them for a few months.
Reheating should be done in the air fryer to maintain the banana's texture and prevent them from getting mushy like they might in the microwave.
🍴 What To Serve With This Dish
While this recipe is delicious as a cooked banana dessert, you can also use your air fried bananas as a special sweet topping for breakfast or brunch.
Pair the bananas with Air Fryer French Toast, tropical Pineapple Pancakes, this comforting Slow Cooker Maple Cinnamon Oatmeal, or a healthy and filling Cinnamon Quinoa Breakfast Bake.

It wasent that good…It’s a good idea.. but it’s way to surgery. And it’s way too much butter. My stomach hurt after it……..

Sorry to hear that you didn't like these specific measurements of butter and sugar, but of course you can scale that back if you want to make it again! We love this recipe as it is, and we often serve it over pancakes or waffles and then we don't use any other butter or syrup so it's just perfect. I appreciate you stopping by!
