🧂 Ingredients Needed
- onion - gives your burgers a delicious onion-y bite.
- ground turkey - this healthier option to ground beef could also be replaced with ground chicken.
- Italian seasoning - an easy way to provide lots of flavor without much effort.
- pepper & garlic salt - provide a delicious base of flavor.
- slider buns - these perfectly sized buns are the easiest option for these ground turkey sliders.
- cheese slices - feel free to use your favorite kind of cheese, but American and cheddar are always good choices!
🔪 Instructions
- Cut the onion into smaller chunks to start, then use a food processor or cheese grater to break down into small pieces.
- Combine grated onion with ground turkey, Italian seasoning, garlic salt, and pepper.
- Mix until everything is well incorporated.
- Press the turkey mixture into a sprayed baking dish slightly larger than the size of your slider buns.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for about 15 to 20 minutes. You'll know the turkey is done when the juices are clear.
- Leaving the buns attached, cut them in half horizontally and place on a baking sheet. Top with turkey patty and cheese.
- Top with the other half of the buns and brush with melted butter (optional).
- Bake for an additional 4 to 5 minutes, until cheese is melty. Remove from the oven and use a large knife to separate the burgers.
❔ FAQs
There are a lot of options that pair well with these turkey sliders! Because turkey has a milder flavor than beef, you can be creative with cheese choices. American and cheddar are always good options, but you could also go for something like Gouda, provolone, or pepper jack.
Ground turkey tends to be lower in calories and saturated fat than ground beef, which makes it a leaner protein. Because it doesn't have a super powerful flavor, ground turkey is often a great healthier substitution for beef!
If you find your turkey patty falls apart, try adding a tablespoon or two of breadcrumbs to the mixture to hold it together.

🥫 Storage and Reheating
If you have leftovers, I recommend storing them in the fridge in an airtight container. They should be eaten within a day or two for best results.
To reheat, pop them back in the oven at 350 degrees F until heated through and cheese is melty again.
