❔ FAQs
If you find your popsicles freeze into a result that's too hard, feel free to add a bit of coconut milk or Greek yogurt while blending for a softer finished product. You can also allow the popsicles to sit in the fridge or out at room temperature for a few minutes to soften up.
This can happen if the ratio of water to other ingredients is too high. Be sure to only add as much water as necessary. Remember that the lemon juice and strawberries will provide some liquid of their own. The water is just to ensure that everything comes together properly.
Yes! You can turn these strawberry lemon popsicles into adult treats by adding some alcohol. Vodka, rum, or tequila are all good options. Be sure you don't add too much; alcohol has a lower freezing point than water and the fruit juices, so adding too much will prevent your popsicles from properly freezing.
💭 Expert Tips and Tricks
- Give your popsicle mixture a taste before freezing to ensure you're happy with the flavor!
- You'll get more juice out of your lemons if you pop them in the microwave for 20 to 30 seconds before juicing. Be sure to let them cool down before handling them, as they might be hot.
- Fancier popsicles can be achieved by chopping up additional strawberries and folding the diced strawberries into the mixture before freezing!
- If you don't have a popsicle mold, make your strawberry lemon popsicles by pouring the strawberry lemonade mixture into disposable small paper cups (like Dixie cups) and adding popsicle sticks. Then peel the cups away and enjoy.
- You can also pour your mixture into ice cube trays and use the flavored ice cubes for delicious drinks and cocktails.
📌 These Strawberry Lemonade Popsicles are the ultimate refreshing treat, perfect for a dessert or a summer afternoon snack! Easy to make, you can even get the kids involved with making these tangy popsicles.
💡 Substitutions and Variations
- In a pinch, frozen strawberries can be substituted for fresh. You might want to let them thaw a bit before blending, just so they aren't too hard.
- If you're using bottled lemon juice instead of fresh lemon juice, you'll need about four tablespoons.
- Honey can be substituted for the agave.
- You can use other ingredients like coconut water or simple syrup to add flavor. Just be sure not to add too much liquid, or the popsicles might not freeze properly.
🥫 Storage
Keep your popsicles in the freezer for 6-8 weeks. It's typically easiest to leave them in their molds, but you can also transfer them to some kind of container or freezer bag. In this case, use some pieces of wax paper to prevent the popsicles from sticking together.
Any longer than 8 weeks and your popsicles might gather some freezer burn. They'll still be okay to eat, but they might not taste quite as good.
