🩵 About This Recipe

Have you ever thought to bake Oreos in chocolate chip cookies? If not, you MUST try these!

Jumbo cookies with a classic chocolate chip cookie dough are even tastier thanks to the distinct chocolatey flavor of sandwich cookies.

This easy-to-make dessert is sure to be a hit with any crowd! Oreo filled chocolate chip cookies are perfect for birthdays, holidays, and special occasions, but you'll love them any time!

And if you can't get enough treats, try these No Bake Cookie Dough Bars, a frosty Oreo Milkshake, or a batch of slightly healthier Oatmeal Banana Cookies.

🧂 Ingredients Needed

• butter - I prefer to use unsalted butter and then add salt to taste. Using softened butter is an easier way to start the wet ingredients.
• sugar - both granulated sugar and brown sugar are crucial for that classic chocolate chip cookie flavor.
• large eggs - add moisture to the dough and give the cookies a lighter texture.
• vanilla extract - provides some extra warm sweetness.
• all purpose flour - forms the main structure of the cookie and contributes to the texture.
• salt - helps balance out the sweetness with a little hint of salty goodness.
• baking soda - gives your cookies a fluffy and light consistency.
• semi sweet chocolate morsels - you can use any kind of chocolate chips you like, but semi sweet is my favorite for a strong chocolatey flavor without overloading on the sweet.
• peanut butter sandwich cookies - I love to use peanut butter Oreos for this recipe, but feel free to use another kind of Oreo or another type of sandwich cookie.

💭 Expert Tips and Tricks

• For a super easy shortcut, use store bought chocolate chip cookie dough instead of making your own.
• Make sure to press the two cookie dough halves together well so they form a good seal.
• If you're worried about lumpy cookie dough, sift the dry ingredients together before mixing them into the wet ingredients.
• Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients a little at a time.
• Use a handheld electric mixer or stand mixer with a paddle attachment to help prep go much faster.
• Line the cookie sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easier clean up.
• You can bake any remaining dough as regular chocolate chip cookies as well!

📌 Pair these Oreo filled chocolate chip cookies with a tall glass of milk for the ultimate dessert!

💡 Substitutions and Variations

• Add other toppings to the cookies like chopped almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, or even some Oreo crumbs or sprinkles.
• Feel free to use regular Oreos for this recipe, or another flavor like mint Oreos or even golden Oreos.
• You can easily use another kind of cookie dough for this recipe as well, but be aware that baking times may vary depending on the kind of dough.
• I prefer semi-sweet chocolate chips in this recipe, but milk chocolate chips, chocolate chunks, dark chocolate chips, or white chocolate chips can be substituted.

🥫 Storage

Keep the cookies in an airtight container in a cool and dry place. They should last at least a week, though they might start to dry out a bit. If you place a piece of bread in the container with the cookies, it will help keep them soft and moist.

⏲️ Make Ahead Instructions

Prepare your Oreos in chocolate chip cookies and store the dough balls in the fridge for a couple weeks or even freeze them for months at a time in a freezer bag!

Bake them right from frozen, though they'll need an extra minute or two. This is a great option when you just want to make a couple of cookies at a time.

You can also prepare the cookie dough ahead of time and wrap it in some plastic wrap.

🍴 What To Serve With This Dish

For an extra special treat, pair these Oreo stuffed chocolate chip cookies with an Easy Chocolate Glaze or this Cherry Ice Cream and some Homemade Chocolate Sauce for a super indulgent dessert.

If you want to make sure you and your family get a nice healthy meal before gobbling down your cookies, serve Easy Steak Bowls with Potato, this One Pan Honey Garlic Chicken, or White Wine Shrimp Pasta with Arugula.

Another great option is to pair your cookies with one of these 31 Birthday Cake Treats!
